Half to 3 year old Lesson Plans for beginners, communication skills, introduce reading, interactive books, letters of the alphabet, playing with Legos.
September was a busy month for our classroom. In this month we worked with identifying the numbers 1 and 2 and tried to color the picture of them. We also worked on days of the week in our everyday morning group circle. We learned our body parts (head, eyes, nose, lips, legs etc) in September. We request you to revise those with your kids at home. Our kids enjoyed singing “twinkle, twinkle little star and “head shoulder knees and toes” . We worked with fall colors while doing our art project. Art projects always help them to improve kids’ fine motor skill.
In our story time we read story books. While Reading “I can Snap”, our sweet little kids practiced how to snap daddy’s sleeve. We will keep working on this kind of skill in October too.
Angelz Funtime will have a Halloween party on October 28th. You will receive the update soon.
We have had a busy month filled with coloring and crafts and songs but as August has come to a close we will begin our new school year. I have some fun activities and learning opportunities for your children. I can not wait to share them with the students. We will begin using a journal. You will see them come home some Fridays and I ask that you return them on your child’s first day back to school the following week. I hope you enjoy seeing your child’s work as much as I enjoy helping them with it.
During the month of January Students in this classroom worked on winter themed crafts. The letters N -Q were introduced along with the numbers 1-3. During circle time children demonstrate their recognition of shapes and colors, read books, recite numbers and alphabet. They are learning the days of the week and months of the year as well as weather. Next month our theme will be about Friendship.
My name is Krista Caserta and I started working with your children in mid- March. We have begun to work on verbal and communication skills. As we do worksheets, I will give them a crayon and tell them the color of the crayon and ask them to repeat the color back to me. At snack time we do this by learning to say “help please” if they need help and to say “open” if they need help opening a snack. When they are done, I ask them if they are done and ask them to say “all done”. This is progressing as we do it on a daily basis. If they need to go to the bathroom or need a diaper change, I am working on getting them to say “potty” to me. We work on motor skills by playing with Legos, Dominos, play-dough and puppets. We sing to help us learn our ABC’s and count each day to help them with numbers. We also sing to get our physical activity and to release energy in a positive way.
In April I plan to have some read aloud videos/DVD’s and interactive books for the children to introduce reading as a fun activity. We will be having a letter of the alphabet for each week to help the children learn their ABC’s. We will be learning the formation of letters by using our fingers to trace the letters. We will continue to work on motor skills by introducing art this month and playing with the Legos, etc. I will be periodically sending notes home to give you updates on your child and their work. If you have any questions or concerns just approach me when you pick your child up. I am having a great time working with your children and we plan on doing good things this month.
